Delete your account and data

You can use Rephrase without an account. If you signed in with Google, you can delete your account and the data linked to it at any time.

Delete from the app (fastest).

Open Rephrase and sign in with the same Google account.
Open the account menu in the top-right corner (your name or avatar).
Choose Delete account and confirm.

Your session ends immediately and you return to guest mode. You can keep using Rephrase without an account afterwards.

What is deleted

Account profile: your Google account identifier, email address, email-verification status, display name and profile picture URL.
Account usage: the daily run counts stored under your account.
Reports you submitted while signed in: they are detached from your account and device IDs, and any note you added is removed.

What is kept, and for how long

Anonymized safety records: the reason, request ID and output reference of a report may be kept for up to 180 days so we can review abuse and improve safety. They are no longer linked to your account, device or note.
Daily device counts: the random device ID used in the browser you were on may keep today's count until the normal reset; usage rows are deleted after 30 days.
Minimal legal/security records: if we are required by law or need to investigate fraud or abuse, we may retain the minimum necessary information for the required period, with restricted access.

What is not stored on our server

The text you submit is not saved in our database. Your recent results, drafts and preferences stay in your browser; deleting your account does not clear them. Use Clear in the app or clear site data in your browser to remove them.

If you cannot sign in

Email [email protected] with the subject Account deletion request. Send it from the Google email address you used, if possible. We may ask you to verify that you control the account before deleting it, and we aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.

If you never signed in

There is no account profile to delete. Our server only has a random device ID, a daily run count, and any report you submitted. Daily counts are deleted automatically after 30 days. For reports or other requests, email us and describe what you want removed.
